All Horses North prices include round-trip air fare from New York, Boston, Baltimore, Minneapolis and Orlando. Seattle is NOW also available -. (Toronto, Halifax and Europe travel is also available.) Also included are airport transfers, any accommodations needed before or after your ride. Many include pre and/or post tour nights in Reykjavik. Each itinerary spells out what is and isn't included.
The dates listed below are when each ride starts in Iceland. Riders from the US must leave home at least the night before the tour starts - sometimes it's two nights, depending on the outfitter and ride schedule. But the price always includes any extra accommodations that you might needHotel Based Riding ToursThe first three tours are based at a very nice, comfy country hotel. It's the first Icelandic hotel that meets Nordic "White Swan" standards. Cozy, friendly, warm, a great place to return to after a day in the saddle. The last one is in a fun Viking theme hotel near Reykjavik. Nature's Treasures (yielding Rider's Pleasures!) 4 or 5 days Horses and Spas - a great combination! One of our most well received tours this tour combines riding with a very comfortable base at the Hotel Eldhestar Riding and a little bit of pampering, incluing a sauna, hot tub and massage room at the Hotel. This tour has 3 or 4 days of riding and relaxing, plus a day on one end or another. Available to start on any day of the week from mid-March through October. Seasonal prices. A great 2 day introduction to Iceland and the Icelandic horse. Ride across the moor at Hellisheidi, around an extinct volcano, and into a mountain top valley, for a dip in the hot spring at Reykjadalur. Another day goes along the river Olfusa to a noted bird sanctuary, for 55 total kilometers. Comfort at night at a great farm hotel. This riding tour provides a great start to a longer visit to Iceland! Available every day by reservation. This short tour is a fine introduction to southern Iceland and its horses.You'll have two full days of riding through the lava that's flown for centuries in southern Iceland, through the Heidmork Conservation Area. You'll spend the night at a very cool Viking theme hotel in nearby Hafnafjordur. (plus you'll have a day before and after the ride in Reykjavik) The Viking Adventure departs every Wednesday from March through October. Seasonal prices. A perfect way to experience how the Icelandic horse is so well suited to its homeland. From the outfitters comfortable hotel, you’ll ride over mountains of lava, into lush hidden valleys, with hot streams running through them with marvelous vistas of southern Iceland. Departures in May, Summer and September Farm Based RidingFarming has always been a mainstay of Iceland's countryside, and there's no nicer place to meet some Icelanders and get to know their landscape a bit. Iceland Holiday farms are comfortable and traditional accommodations, often with shared baths, and usually featuring outdoor hot tubs - just the thing for after a days ride! Five days of riding in Northwest Iceland's singular landscapes with the history of 1,000 years never far away. Hóp is a large lake with trails on its sand beaches that invite smooth, fast riding. Historical sites from a millenium ago and birdcliffs add to the mystique. After the ride the group returns south on a bus that traverses the Kjðlur Road over the highlands. A day in Reykjavik before and after the riding tour is included.. Accommodations are in hotels and farm guesthouses. Countryside Riding Adventure - 3 Days A traditional way to see a lot of Iceland. After arriving in Iceland, you'll head up north to a farm guest house on a beautiful salmon river. You'll ride from farm to farm for three days, across the shore of Lake Hop and through some spectacular scenery. The tour is a great start for a longer tour through Iceland. Starts in Iceland on Sundays, 3 days; A short version of the Golden Circle tour (see multi-day rides) Ride to Geysir and Gullfoss, see southern Iceland's impressive sights from the back of a horse. With made-up beds at farms and guesthouses with outdoor hot tubs. Starts in Iceland on Sundays, Autumn Colors - Northern Lights! - 8 Days The end of summer and the chances to see great displays of Northern Lights.
